irix and makefile

Ok,

on one of the irix boxen floating around in my access list I've found
that squid refuses to build on it.

Its giving a "Syntax error" on lines where the target is undefined.
Eg, the DNSSERVER_EXE target (220ish) where DNSSERVER_EXE isn't
defined.

Can someone with Makefile clue suggest a nice fix for this?
