Yes, thats the whole point of the deferred read handlers.

If the current code always polls all FDs, it slipped by me. If so, its
the wrong thing to do. Maybe you're talking about a branch? I'm
running the head branch code on a number of caches and haven't observed
any select/poll funnies.
